Emmie Graham began dancing at age four at Willow Street Studios in Carbondale, IL. She has since trained at Alexandra School of Ballet in St. Louis, MO and has attended summer dance programs including Milwaukee Ballet, Jordan Academy of Dance, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Emmie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University with a B.A. in Dance in 2014. As a member of the KSU Dance Company, she has performed at the Kennedy Center, Rialto Center for the Arts, Cobb Energy Center, Atlanta Symphony Hall, and Alabama Dance Festival, among others, and has worked with choreographers such as Ivan Pulinkala, Lauri Stallings, Christen Weimer, and Emily Cargill. In June 2014, Emmie served as the director and choreographer for “Mozart in Motion”, a concert featuring contemporary ballet as part of the Southern Illinois Music Festival. From 2014-2016 she studied under founding HSDC member Claire Bataille while on Work Study at the Lou Conte Dance Studio in Chicago, IL. For the past two summers, Emmie followed her other passion, exploring the natural world, and worked at Glacier National Park in Montana. She is excited to be teaching at Willow Street again!
